A review from WWOOFer number 3!
I've done a lot of woofing, an unlike some farms here I felt there was a great balance, relaxed, appreciated, and like my brain and body were growing healthier everyday! At Laspissotes they really work with th...e flows of nature, which of course is ever evolving, and this made life varied and so enjoyable. Each day is a new set of elements to negotiate, to prioritise, whether it be with the animals, the market, the weather, the weeds...
Sandrine and Rene are constantly thinking of how to do things more efficiently, and I found this really interesting. I had a very insightful experience and I think part of the reason is that they are trying really hard, with such good intentions, but are humble and realistic too. Occasionally the word 'stress' may be mentioned, but this is understandable, because for all the benefits of such a lifestyle, small organic farming is uncertain and difficult at times, but, this made it even more compelling to really be a help.
I was very excited by the markets, that were getting more frequent whilst I was there, even doing an evening market with food made from our veg. I felt very proud to see all the produce being enjoyed and appreciated, and to have the whole process from seed to plate very local and open is wonderful and something I hope more people will soon value.
This place is beautiful, diverse with so much potential, I cant wait to know how it grows and evolves. Sandrine and Rene are wonderful people with a love that fills the farm! I went on my trip looking for something, in Las Pissotes I found it, so thank you very much x
