WWOOFING at Lapissotes.
I arrived at Lapissotes farm after arranging to stay for a week, after meeting René & Sandrine, René proudly showed me around the farm explaining many of Bio techniques used. When the guided tour was over we set to work on the never ending job of weeding. I think after an afternoons weeding I had developed an uncontrollable urge to relieve the soil of any weeds that I passed over the coming weeks, although I did manage to relax this a little in the second week however.
The work is carried out on a weekly cycle which is ruled by the markets, so the day before a market you are collecting all that is needed for the next day. It gets really intense when you have a night market, when the farms main trade is there tapas, but also all there produce is on show as well. So on the day of the night market not only is there the picking of the produce, but the tapas has to be prepared as well. The night market it self I really enjoyed, the work is hectic ...
